Sylvan Lake RCMP attend double fatal crash

Two people are dead and two others in hospital following a two-vehicle crash north of Eckville on Saturday.

On July 5, 2025, at 9:55 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 766 and Highway 12. Upon arrival, Mounties say the two occupants of a GMC Sierra, 75-year-old and 72-year-old male residents of Lacombe, were deceased.

The two occupants of a Dodge truck, meantime, 23-year-old and 19-year-old male residents of Red Deer, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP remained on scene for several hours conducting an investigation.

The RCMP send their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
