It is with deepest sadness that our family announces the passing of Preston Arndt on June 17, 2025 at the age of 39 years old.
We are all devastated by this tragedy and yet incredibly moved by the outpouring of love from those whose lives were profoundly impacted by Preston’s caring spirit and generous heart.
Preston grew up in the small town of Springside, Saskatchewan and loved being outside. If he wasn’t in the garage taking apart something, he’d be biking the streets or swimming in his backyard pool. And as often as possible, he always loved to be at his Grandpa’s side getting into all kinds of mischief. After souping up every bicycle and dirt bike he ever had, he turned to modding his cars and then his trucks. It’s safe to say, the entire town heard when Preston was arriving home.
Preston graduated from Yorkton Regional High School in 2004. Following this, he began working at Schrader Motor Sports before going on to start his own welding company in 2013. Looking for a career change, Preston became a dealer for The Container Guy in 2020, selling, renting, modifying, and delivering sea cans in Central Alberta.
From a very young age, Preston loved speed and his love for motocross started when his dad bought him his first dirt bike. He joined the Yorkton Motocross Club where he competed for many years eventually winning a provincial title. Preston had a passion for anything with a throttle, and would spend countless hours riding, fixing, and tweaking the motor bikes he owned over the years.
Preston met Casey in 2021 and becoming fast friends, they rode through thick and thin together bent on enjoying every ounce of life. The two enjoyed breakfasts, gator rides to the river, hauling sea cans, cooking together, and riding their Harleys. And with Jaxx at their side, the three were inseparable.
Preston was not only gifted in the kitchen, but he was also a talented artist turning pistons into skulls, horseshoes into angels, and engine blocks into coffee tables. Preston lived a full life truly enjoying the outdoors. If the open road on his Harley was his love in summer, his winter highlight was always the view from the top of the mountains in Revy. Sledding with his dad, cousins, and friends were some of Preston’s fondest memories.
His love for big speed and open skies was only surpassed by the love he had for his friends, which he called family. Preston was honest, dedicated, and genuine to the core. He was the kind of person who didn’t have to try hard to brighten a room. He loved hard and his loyalty meant everything. He’d empty his wallet, bloody his knuckles wrenching, or stay up all night to get your truck running for morning. He always offered his time and care without hesitation never needing praise or recognition. It’s how he lived.
Preston will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Nelson and Rosalind; sister Jennifer (Leighton) and his two nieces Olivia and Halle. He also leaves to mourn his best friend, Casey, Jaxx, his beloved dog and loyal sidekick, and a long list of deeply saddened family and friends.
To honour his memory today, raise a glass of your favourite beverage, Preston would cheers you back with a Pil or Whiskey Water.
Preston, Sonny Boy, Bud, P-Dawg, Puppy, you will be incredibly missed.
Love you to the deep end of the pool.
