National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration to go ahead this Saturday in Sylvan Lake
The National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration in Sylvan Lake is set for this Saturday, June 21 but will look a bit different than originally planned.
Due to rain in the forecast, the event has been moved from Centennial Park to completely indoors at the NexSource Centre from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is a free event for all ages.
As a result, the Snake Lake scramble relay has been cancelled. However, there are still plenty of other activities to take in to celebrate Indigenous culture and heritage.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m. there will be a community yard sale in the centre where participants can trade or pickup a new treasure for themselves.
