LINDSTRAND, Betty June
1938 – 2025
Mrs. Betty June Lindstrand (nee Anderson) of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the age of 86 years. She was born to Carl and Esther (nee Nelson) Anderson on June 23, 1938, in Camrose, Alberta. She was raised on her parents’ farm at Lake Demay, east of Camrose and attended Lake Demay and Sifton schools and Camrose Lutheran College for Grades 10 and 11. Betty worked as a receptionist in Edmonton for a year and a half before she married Morley Martin Lindstrand on June 15, 1957. Morley and Betty resided in Kingman for two years before moving to Camrose, when their first child, Cindy June, was born on April 19, 1958. Two years later, on May 18, 1960, their son, Kim Morley arrived. In 1961, the family moved to Barrhead and then to Swan Hills in 1962, where they lived until 1975, when they relocated to Red Deer. Morley’s work took them to Langley, British Columbia, and Chile, South America, before returning to Red Deer in 2005 to retire, and where they have lived since. Betty will be lovingly remembered by Morley, her husband of almost 68 years, her daughter, Cindy (Brent) and her son, Kim (Sharon); her grandchildren, Kelsey (Andrew), Chad (Ashley), Jason (Ally), John (Kate), and Joel (Alana); and her great grandchildren, Rowan, Kai, Luka, Ruby, Marvin, Hazel and Alex. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Esther, her brother, Lester (Amy, Mary), her sister, Elsa (Fred), and her brother, Earl (Doreen, Bettye). A Celebration of Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://www.parklandfuneralhome.com/live-stream.
