1963 – 2025
God has a new angel by his side. It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim Heather Anne Meyer-Lucas on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the age of 61 years. Kim was born on August 5, 1963, at Camrose, Alberta to Gary and Dorothy Meyer. Kim’s passion and personality was as vibrant as her favourite colour yellow! She was a gentle soul and through her thirty-five-year career in Childcare Services, she touched so many families’ lives. Kim lived life to the fullest and travelled the world from the steps of the Vatican to the banks of the Nile, to the Stations of the Cross in Jerusalem, to the Great Wall of China, and of course, to her favourite city, San Franscisco to see her beloved Giants play! Kim will be lovingly remembered by her husband of thirty-three years, Al and her pups, Ellie and Buster. Kim will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Tammy-Rae (Al), Sherry (Brad); and her brother, Brad (Tammy). Yes… two Al’s, two Tammy’s and two Brads! And her father, Gary Meyer. Plus, we can’t forget all of Al’s family who Kim loved dearly. Kim also has numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews whom she adored. Kim’s friendship was so precious. She loved her friends, Loretta, Shannon, Cheryl, Cindy, Kim, Rita, and Marie and so many more, too numerous to mention. Kim will join Nana Meyer and her baby sister in heaven. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. A second Funeral Mass will be held in Heisler on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Kim’s honor may be made directly to the Lending Cupboard in Red Deer at www.lendingcupboard.ca. No flowers or casseroles please. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
