Gilberte McPhee
Born in North Bay, Ontario, on June 1, 1934, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the Rosefield Care Centre in Innisfail.
Gilberte came to Alberta in her teens and worked at the Red Deer General Hospital. She met and married her husband Jack during this time and moved to the McPhee family farm where they raised their family. Mom was an avid curler while living at the farm, participating in many ladies’ bonspiels throughout the province.
In 1973, they retired to Red Deer. Following their retirement, golf became a large part of Gil’s life. Jack and Gilbeerte were gracious hosts to many friends and family before and after their retirement. Gilberte was predeceased by her husband Jack, daughter Gail, and son-in-law Laurier, as well as her parents and siblings.
Lovingly remembered by her daughters Lynn (Tim Jackson), Debbie (Harvey Kelts), Kate Squires-Landry, Anna (Carl Johnson), and her son, Rob McPhee, as well as her son-in-law, Glen Stevenson, and half-siblings Rob and Suzanne.
Known and loved as Nana by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
A drop-in Celebration of Life will be held at the Innisfail Ski Hill (60th Street, Innisfail, Alberta) on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Please dress comfortably.
The family wishes to thank and acknowledge all the many caregivers our mother has had over the past few years (Inglewood/Optima, Taylor View North, and especially the Rosefield Care Centre).
