1939 – 2025
Our beloved Irene Annie Durksen passed away quietly, surrounded by her loving and attentive husband, their three daughters and grandchildren, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the age of 85 years, she was welcomed into the presence of the Lord.

Irene was born on November 30, 1939 at Coronation, Alberta, the eldest daughter of Alfred and Annie Bossert (nee Duer). The eldest of four children, Irene spent the majority of her growing years in the Veteran and Coronation area of eastern Alberta before moving to Red Deer in 1974.

She will be remembered as someone who always had an open heart and an open door. We are grateful we had opportunity to know and love Irene and are confident that the cares and toils of this world are no longer a part of her story.

Irene will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 68 years, Walter; her daughters, Debbie, Brenda, and Tracy; her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; numerous family members and dear friends. Irene was predeceased by her parents and sister, Faye, and many other family members who were dear to her.

A Memorial Service was held at Veteran Full Gospel Church, Veteran, Alberta on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Irene’s honor may be made directly to the HOPE Mission.
