BOURK, Delores
1937 – 2025
Mrs. Delores Bourk (nee Hadden) of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Ste. Rita, Manitoba on April 23, 1937 to Wallace and Violet Hadden. Delores was raised and lived on the homestead where she went to school before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba at sixteen years of age, where she worked until she joined the military to further her education and career. She met the love of her life, Patrick ‘Pat’ Bourk in Senneterre, Québec and soon after they married and started their family and life long journey together. It was very important for Delores to give back to her community by selflessly giving her time to numerous charities, associations and causes. Delores was proud to serve the Nord-Bridge Senior Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta, where she was a dedicated Board Member and a recipient of the Seniors of Distinction Award in 2015. She was very passionate about sports, some of her favourites to play were bowling, curling, softball and golfing. In her leisure time, Delores enjoyed spending time with friends, family and neighbors, she loved to travel and meet new people. Delores’ passing will leave a hole in our everyday lives but never in our hearts. She is lovingly remembered by her caring and dedicated husband of sixty-eight years, Patrick Bourk of Red Deer, Alberta; and her daughters Cindy Bourk, Kim Schreiner and Colleen Bourk of Red Deer, Alberta. Delores will also be deeply missed by her five grandkids; her nine great grandkids; her brothers, Jack, Stanley and Raymond, and a multitude of friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Barry; her granddaughter, Janel; her parents, Wallace and Violet Hadden; her sisters, Audrey and Vivian; and her brothers, Earl, Norman, Douglas and Robert. A Celebration of Delores’s Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Delores’s honor may be made directly to the Nord-Bridge Senior Centre at 1904 13 Avenue N, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1H 4W9.
