HARRISON, Paul
1983 – 2025
It is with great sadness we are announcing the untimely passing of this genuinely selfless man, Paul Ryan Harrison. Paul passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the age of 41 years. Paul was born on May 5, 1983 in England. The Harrison family moved here from England in 1990 when Paul was seven years old. Paul’s generosity was limitless and at a young age, he found joy in helping out where he saw need. He took pride in helping at Lindsay Thurber in the cafeteria and at banquets. As an adult, he continued to reach out and share his passions and talents. Everyone who knew him knew his head, chest and heart were not without a crimson flamed C. He laced on his skates and played along with all his buddies – his hockey dream team. Paul was known by all his friends and family’s children as “uncle Paul”. The piggyback ride giver, the joker and the tease, the first to hang out with and share their passions with them. In his desire to impress upon others the joy of activities, he and Kyra took on coaching soccer for their exchange student. He was so loved that many of the kids came back to request him again this year. With hosting international students over the last four years, Paul became the fill in Dad for those they hosted. Ensuring their experience in Canada would have a lifetime positive feeling of having been loved and part of their family. His support of students expanded into the schools and classrooms of Kyra’s work world. Always finding time, even though he worked full time himself at a long-time job, where he also would find fulfillment in helping out nationally to ensure everything ran as smoothly as he was able to make it. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fourteen years, Kyra Harrison; his mother, Tina Harrison; and his father, Derek Harrison. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers, Shane and Jamie (Dav); his sisters, Tammy (Dan) Kromm, Julie (Mike) Bulbeck and Tracey (Jonathan, Noah, and Jordana) Tunde-Wright – who recently moved here from England to be with this loving family, as well as numerous other family members and dear friends. A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Please wear Calgary Flames items if you have in his honour.
