Mrs. Cheryl Ann Wozny of Innisfail, Alberta, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the age of 49 years. Cheryl was born on June 7, 1975, at Regina, Saskatchewan to Alvin and Doreen Senger. She attended F.W. Johnson School from 1989 – 1993. Cheryl received her Business Administration Diploma from CDI College of Business and Technology. She was a freelance copywriter for CAAB Writing, and an Author publishing children’s books. She was a proud Day Home provider and made a lasting impression on the children she cared for. Cheryl was an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Red Deer; Cervical Cancer Support, Teal Sisters supporting one another; she enjoyed coaching with Innisfail Minor Hockey for years; running marathons; and participated in a triathlon. Cheryl was an avid hiker; and she enjoyed camping and kayaking. Cheryl loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, learning new paint skills and her pet chickens, especially Harriet. Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ossie Wozny; her children, Hailey Essex, Michael Essex, Maddox Wozny and Sofia Wozny; her brother, Dave Senger and numerous other family members and dear friends. Cheryl was predeceased by her grandparents, Michael and Marie Senger. A Memorial Service was held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd., Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Cheryl’s honor may be made directly by donating blood; donating to local animal shelters; local food banks; or to the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Centre.
