Mr. Wayne Barry Lee of Innisfail, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Hospice, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the age of 84 years. Wayne was born on November 5, 1940 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was adopted at two months old by Howard and Betty Lee. Wayne lived in Edmonton, Alberta and completed his schooling there. He took his carpenter apprenticeship in Edmonton and went to trade school in Calgary, Alberta. He also joined the Union Local 1325 in 1960, and in 1961 Wayne completed his Journeyman Carpentry. He received Journeyman Scaffolder in 1991. He still has both tickets and was a member for sixty-four years, he retired in 2005. In 1962, Wayne was married but later he was remarried in 1977 to Ruth Holgate. Between their two families they had six children. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting, travelling, bus tours, golfing, and occasionally coaching hockey. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elizabeth ‘Ruth’ Lee, his four sons, Gordon, Donald, Robert, and Timothy, his two daughters, Crystal, and Elizabeth ‘Beth’, as well as his ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his brother, Thomas, and sister, Sarah. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Betty Lee, his brothers, Harry, Ronald, and Kenneth, and his two sisters, Emily and Lois.
