Barbara Gene Burgess (Murphy)

December 23, 1936 – February 9, 2025

Barbara Gene Burgess (Murphy) of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Kingston, Ontario, on December 23, 1936, Barb lived a full life surrounded by the love of her family.

She is survived by her three children, Libby Burt (Larry), Margaret Bzdel, and Art Burgess (Martine’), along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barb was predeceased by her son, Lawrence Burgess, and her beloved, Emile Hermary

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Northcott Care Centre in Ponoka for their compassionate care over the past several years.

A funeral service to celebrate Barb’s life will be held at Eventide Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m, with burial and reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Barb’s memory.
