Stewart Joseph Wong
September 10, 1928 – January 14, 2025
Stewart passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Olds Hospital, Alberta. Born in Olds, he was the eldest child of Frank and Irene Wong. Although his siblings moved away from Olds, Stewart remained to assist his parents in the family restaurant – Public Lunch – until their retirement in 1972. Happy to leave the restaurant business, Stewart began a successful career in real estate. While enjoying real estate, his true passions were his family, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and his dogs. Stewart will be deeply missed by his wife Mabel; daughter Tracy, of Calgary, AB; brothers Stanley, of Calgary, and James (Carol), of Victoria, BC/Toronto, ON; sister Frances Cheung, of Brewster, NY; brother-in-law Gordon Chow, of Calgary; Ed Wong, of Toronto; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Irene, sister Maie Chow, sister-in-law Lou Wong, and brother-in-law George Cheung. Sincerest thanks and appreciation are extended to the healthcare team at the Olds Hospital for the excellent care they gave to Stewart. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Heartland Funeral Services Chapel, located at 5226 – 46 Street, Olds, Alberta.
