It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert ‘Robbie’ John Jacobson at the Red Deer Hospice on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the age of 58 years. Robbie’s spirit was pure joy. He embodied kindness, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. His charismatic spirit was infectious, always lighting up any room he entered. With a perfect balance of spontaneity and grace, Robbie was always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear. If you ever found yourself in a tough spot, you knew exactly who to call. The recurring sentiment from those who knew him was how he brought joy into their lives. He had an incredible ability to make others laugh, embrace every adventure, and never take life too seriously. Above all, Robbie’s love for his family and friends was unconditional. After graduating from Olds College, he then became a landman, the beginning of his many adventures. Over the years, Robbie held many titles and wore many hats. Selling oilfield equipment, cars, and then hauling cars. In his final years, he drove a truck for Red Deer Bottling. He was a true jack of all trades, and everyone’s ‘go to guy’. His proudest role of them all was always being a father. In the earlier years of his daughter’s life, Robbie could always be found on the ball diamond volunteering and cheering Carly on at every practice, every game, and every tournament, no matter where it took them. They shared many memorable trips together to Hawaii, Vegas, Disneyland, and Australia. He was a remarkable and devoted father, always there for her, loving her unconditionally, supporting all she did, and making sure her dreams came true. Robbie’s passion for cars and motorbikes was legendary. The faster, the better. But more than anything, Robbie loved being on the road. Whether it was camping in his motorhome, riding his motorbike through the mountains, or heading south for his annual road trip to Vegas for the drag races, Robbie was always happiest when the wheels were turning. He was proud to be the Crew Chief of a Pro Fuel Nitro drag bike, and a Harley VRod Destroyer drag bike for his best friends who were more like family to him, Deb and Dan. To me, my dad was everything. He was my best friend, my superhero, and the light of my life. His adventurous, kind-hearted spirit has left a legacy we will forever cherish. I aspire to live with the same love, humor, and generosity that he did. I love you forever Dad. Ride high up there – until we meet again. Robbie will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Carly; brother, Jamie; and his uncle, Ed, along with a large circle of friends who were all like family, each of them by his side until the very end. He is reunited in peace with his parents, Diane and Garth Jacobson. A Service to celebrate Robbie’s life will be held in the spring at one of his favourite places – his lifelong best friend, Sean, and his family’s acreage. Details will follow via Carly Jacobson on Facebook. If desired, Memorial Donations in Robbie’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
