Eileen Opal (Skubovius) Hobson
It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Hobson of Red Deer, AB announces her peaceful passing on November 29, 2024 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
Eileen was born in Peace River, Ab on February 23, 1941 and was predeceaced by her loving companion Peter and her Siblings Claude, Cathy, Alvin, Marvin and Ella.
Eileen is survived by her brother Ted (Jackie) and her 3 daughters, Eleanor (Rob) 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren, Cindy (Kim) and 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren, Darlene (Greg) and 2 grandsons.
With so many siblings came nieces and nephews and she loved them all very much, let’s test my memory.
Doug, Jim, Danny, Leona, Barbie, Catherine (kit), Sharon, Brian, Sherry, Patrick, Linda and I know there are few others that I can’t remember.
Uncle Ted shared some memories with me and told me that mom would go to barn dances with grandpa and grandma back in the day and dance all night long. And I to have fond memories of my mom dancing the night away and wedding receptions we would go to.
Uncle also shared that she cooked the best wild meat as my dad was a hunter and we grew up on wild meat. Eileen was a heck of a cook and she always made sure we had a hot and good meals as well as lunches for school. Except the leftover deer meat sandwiches, I was not a fan.
Eileen made many friends over her lifetime but family always was her go to people to FaceTime with and call regularly. She was a very devoted and loving mother with a heart of gold and when it came to shopping on Amazon she loved it and you never knew when you were going to get a surprise package in the mail.
In Lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be great.
A private celebration of life will be held in the spring where the family will get together and celebrate Eileen and share precious memories.
Rest in Peach Mama you are and will be missed.
