Mr. Jose ‘Clemente’ Schwendener Ayala passed away surrounded by his loving family, at his daughter’s home, on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the age of 75 years. Clemente was born on May 24, 1949 in Guatemala, was raised there and married his wife, Maria Esperanza Aragon. They had five children while living in Guatemala and moved to Canada in 2008. Clemente will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria Esperanza Aragon of Red Deer, Alberta; his children, Elio Estuardo Schwendener Aragon of Montreal, Quebec, Oscar Asturo Schwendener Aragon of Guatemala, Edgar Enrique Schwendener Aragon of Montreal, Quebec, Julio Roberto Schwendener Aragon of Arkansas, and Judith Esperanza Schwendener of Red Deer, Alberta; his fourteen grandchildren; and his three great grandchildren. Clemente will also be sadly missed by his siblings, Jaime of Ontario, Enrich of Montreal, Elsa of Montreal and Lily of Guatemala, as well as many family members and dear friends. Clemente was predeceased by his parents, Soledad and Enrique; his brothers, Enrique, Evald, Hector and Werner; and his sisters, Carolina, Judith and Emma. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Guatemala at a later date.
