It is with great sadness the family of Grant Edward Davis announces his passing on December 15, 2024.
Grant was born August 2, 1954 in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He graduated from high school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and attended SAIT in Calgary, Alberta where he received his Petroleum Engineering Technologist diploma and began his career with Dome Petroleum. Grant received his BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech, Butte, Montana in 1981. His career spanned 40 years working in the Alberta oilpatch.
Grant was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s dementia in 2021 and spent from June 2023 to his passing at Centennial Centre in Ponoka, Alberta.
Grant is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Christopher and Jordan; grandchildren, Johnathan and Quinn; brother Bob (Bev); sister, Shauna; sisters-in-law, Judi, Marilyn (Ivan), Theresa (Glen); brother-in-law, Rob; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Olga; brother, Tom; and sister, Sheila.
Heartfelt thanks to friends and family who visited – those visits truly brought out the “real” Grant.
We cannot thank the staff of Horizon Unit enough for the exceptional care and compassion during Grant’s time there. You are the best.
