Red Deer man sentenced in Cold Lake break and enter
A Red Deer man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and arrested by Cold Lake RCMP this summer has been sentenced to three years in jail.
Leonard Roy McGillis, 60, was sentenced in Cold Lake Court of Justice on Dec. 18, 2024, after being convicted on counts of housebreaking with intent, threats causing death or bodily harm, and assault with a weapon.
It was on July 1, 2024, when Cold Lake RCMP were called to a break and enter in progress at a local home.
Upon arrival, Mounties discovered the suspect in custody by the homeowner, who told police he did not know the suspect.
