Merrilyn Edith Cummerford
April 29, 1944 – December 15, 2024
Our hearts are truly broken and we are incredibly sad to announce the passing of our precious wife, mother, grandmother, and GG. Merrilyn passed away suddenly on December 15, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Merrilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend, Allen Webster; Sons, George (Jacquie), and Brad. Grandma will also be missed by her favorite people, her grandchildren, Adam, Christy, Brooklyn, Randi, Presley, and Owen; Great Grandchildren, Chloe, Dawson, Sawyer, Pryce, Florence, and Waylon. She was admired by her brother Art Cave & Eldon (Dorothy) Raudebaugh. Merrilyn will be sadly missed by Al’s children, Larry Webster; Lori (Colin) Hiller, grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Anthony), Rebecca, Addison (Eve), and great granddaughter Wallis.
She was predeceased by her son Brent in 1971 and her husband of 46 years, Jack in 2008. Her great granddaughter, Emery. Her mother Ruth Cave, her father Ralph Cave, her sister’s Audrey and Delphine, brother Lester, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Merrilyn was born in Eckville and moved to Red Deer soon after where she spent her entire life. She spent her working years as a hairdresser, owning her own salon, testing students, and ending her career doing hair in nursing homes. Merrilyn loved her family most of all, but also enjoyed golfing, watching curling, dancing, and Snowbirding in Arizona.
In the last 10 years, Merrilyn loved all of her adventures, travelling with her hubby Al. They always had a full calendar of adventures and plans on the go.
Merrilyn was a kind, compassionate, empathetic, loving, and caring person. She was always looking after everybody. Nobody ever went hungry as long as she was around. Merrilyn had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. She had a heart of gold.
Always remembered & Forever Loved.
