Submissions open for Viewpoint Gallery 2025 exhibitions

Submission requirements:

Complete contact information: name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, plus website or social media as applicable
A brief description of the proposed exhibition
An artist’s statement or curator’s statement related to the proposed work and/or the work in general
Artist’s or curator’s biography
CV or arts résumé
Five to 10 JPEG images of supporting artwork.
- Each file must be named: number_last name_title of artwork (Example: 3_Picasso_Guerica.jpg) and no larger than 1MB in size.
- For works focused on video, sound or other media, please use a sharing platform to store your work and provide links and passwords to the files in your image list.
A numbered image list which corresponds to the images and indicates:
- Artist’s last name, title of artwork, date completed, media and dimensions
- Any links and passwords to video, sound or other media support material should be included on the image list

City representatives and a submission review committee, which changes annually, will review the submissions. Proposals will be evaluated based on consistency and quality of work, themes, demonstrated commitment to serious practice, and an effort to ensure a diversity of artists are represented.

Submissions must be made by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025. They can be emailed to culturemailbox@reddeer.ca with “Viewpoint Submission” and the artist’s name in the subject line.

The city advises that late or incomplete packages will not be considered.

The Viewpoint Gallery features 875 square feet of exhibit space and 80 linear feet for hanging. The duration of group and solo exhibits is typically two to three months.
