Holiday Smile Cookies for charity back at Tim Hortons through Nov. 24

Nov 18, 2024 | 4:26 PM

Smile Cookies are back for some holiday cheer at Tim Hortons locations.

In Red Deer, 50 per cent of proceeds will benefit The Lending Cupboard, and 50 per cent will go to Tim Hortons Foundation camps.

“We are so grateful and excited to partner with Tim Hortons again for their Holiday Smile Cookie campaign,” said Lori Shatto, executive director of The Lending Cupboard.

“This partnership will help us continue providing much-needed medical equipment to the communities we serve.”

The Lending Cupboard is located at 7803 Gaetz Avenue in Red Deer, and is there for people who need to rent out medical equipment. It has an inventory of over 15,000 pieces, with 1,500 lent out each month.

These are often for extreme sports injuries, recovery from illness or surgery, end of life care, senior citizens, and much more. The most common items loaned out are bath chairs, bed rails, commodes, crutches and canes, bath lifts, and wheelchairs, to name a few.

Last year’s Holiday Smile Cookies campaign raised $9.8 million for charities across North America.
