Woody’s Marathon opens early registration

The 25th annual Woody’s RV Marathon may not hit the trails until next year, but registration is open now and for one week, you can get 50 per cent off the registration fee.

Participants can choose to run a 10k, half marathon, or marathon through Red Deer’s park and trail system and along the Red Deer River.

Registration is half price at $47.50 for the marathon, $45 for the half marathon, and $40 for the 10k until November 8, when it will increase to early bird pricing. Prices will increase again on January 1 and April 1.

The race is planned for Sunday, May 18, 2025, and construction expected next year may force the race course to change, officials say.

They add that while Woody’s Marathon is repeatedly ranked among Alberta’s best races, potential changes to the course mean they cannot confirm at this time if the race will be a Boston qualifier.
