Ernest (Ernie) William Bailey

June 24, 1959 – October 19, 2024

Ernie was born in Calgary, raised in Bowden and attended a small rural school. At age 17 he went to live with his brother, Wes in Red Deer until he graduated high school at LTCHS. He worked at Red Deer Laundry and Cleaners delivering laundry to various hotels in Central Alberta. Ernie drove cab in Red Deer for close to 38 years, at one point becoming supervisor.

Ernie was kind, hardworking and did all the extra little things for his customers. He had some customers for 30 years or more.

On July 26, 1986 he married his wife, Laurie. They were married for 44 years. Their only son, Carter passed away June 6, 2020.

Ernie will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Laurie. He is survived by Mel Bailey of Red Deer, Dawn Carver of Pine Lake, Larry Bailey of Airdrie, Bob Bailey of Red Deer, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at West Park Nazarene Church, Red Deer.
