1961 ~ Mr. Douglas Peter ‘Doug’ Klassen ~ 2024 "The family asks that you pay forward Doug’s kindness by helping someone in need or enjoying a beverage with friends, just as Doug would have wanted. Rest in peace, Doug. You will be missed, but your laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever."

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Douglas Peter ‘Doug’ Klassen, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Doug left us on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the age of 63 years. Born with a heart as big as his personality, Doug was known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. Whether it was a neighbor down the street, or a friend from years past, Doug never hesitated to help those around him. His community, both near and far, benefited from his kindness and unwavering spirit. Doug wasn’t just the guy you called when you needed help – he was also the guy you called when you wanted to have a good time. He loved nothing more than gathering around a fire with friends, a cold drink in hand, and endless laughter filling the air. His humor, wit, and warmth made every gathering unforgettable, and he had a way of making everyone feel welcome, like they were part of his extended family. Doug’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and selflessness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, granddaughters, sister and a large circle of dear friends and family who will miss him deeply. Doug was the proud father of his daughter, Amber, his son-in-law Chris, and the cherished grandfather of his two granddaughters, Gwenyth and Abigayl, who were the lights of his life. His love for them knew no bounds, and he was never happier than when spending time with his family, sharing stories, laughter, and a few too many sweets with the girls. In true Doug fashion, we invite everyone to share their favorite memories, raise a glass, and remember the good times spent around the fire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay forward Doug’s kindness by helping someone in need or enjoying a beverage with friends, just as Doug would have wanted. Rest in peace, Doug. You will be missed, but your laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
