Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Athletics is very proud to announce Hayley Kolosky (Queens Hockey) and Ajdin Sarcevic (Kings Soccer) as the Boston Pizza RDP Athletes of the Week:

Hayley Kolosky
Queens Hockey
Program – Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2nd)
Hometown – Brandon, Manitoba

This past weekend, Hayley Kolosky made an impact on the ice for the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Hockey team. Kolosky, a talented second-year forward, helped the RDP Queens earn a pair of victories against the SAIT Trojans.

In Friday’s game, Brandon’s Kolosky recorded a hat trick in the Queens’ 3-2 victory over the Trojans in Calgary. With the game tied 2-2 late in the third period, she scored the game winning goal while shorthanded. Kolosky, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology student, was named the RDP Queens Player of the Game.

Then on Saturday, Kolosky helped lead the Queens to a 2-1 win over the SAIT Trojans. While she didn’t record a point, Kolosky delivered another strong effort for the Polytechnic.

Ajdin Sarcevic
Kings Soccer
Program – Business Administration – General (4th)
Hometown – Red Deer, Alberta

Ajdin Sarcevic was a difference maker for the RDP Kings Soccer team. In the Kings’ final regular season contest, Red Deer’s Sarcevic scored a natural hat trick to lift his team to a 4-2 victory over the Ambrose University Lions.

When the Kings trailed 2-1 in the second half, Sarcevic, a Business Administration – General student, evened the contest in the 76th minute. Six minutes later, the Kings’ captain scored the game winning goal.

With time expiring, Sarcevic added an insurance marker, helping the RDP Kings solidify first place (6-2-2) in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Soccer South Division. He was also named the North Star Sports Kings Player of the Game.

The RDP Kings will compete in the ACAC Men’s Soccer semi-finals in Grande Prairie on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 5:30 pm.

They will face the winner of Friday’s game between the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks and Keyano College Huskies.
