Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) invites prospective students and their friends and family to its Fall 2024 Open House, an opportunity to learn more about its programming and services.

The open house runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 26 on the main campus at RDP.

“We are excited to welcome high school students, their families and mature learners who are considering a dynamic post-secondary education at Red Deer Polytechnic to our Fall 2024 Open House,” says Lindsay Engel, vice-president of academic and student experience. “At RDP, we offer enhanced education, training and applied research opportunities that equip graduates to become leaders in their fields, helping to address labour market demand in Alberta.”

Attendees can also interact with faculty and staff to learn more about specific programs. There will be demonstrations, try-a-trade activities, and a tour of the main campus and student residences. Additionally, there will be sessions on funding and scholarships, with one being specifically designed for parents.

There will be a complimentary lunch provided in the FarSide Bar and Grill starting at 11 a.m.while supplies last.

Prospective students interested in attending will be able to submit an application with no fee, and support with the application will be offered in the RDP library throughout the event. The school is currently accepting applications for the Winter 2025, Spring 2025, and Fall 2025 terms.

RDP offers a range of programming that includes degrees, diplomas, certificates, micro-credentials and apprenticeships. This includes more than 80 industry-relevant programs in business, computing, creative arts, education, engineering technologies, health, humanities and social sciences, and killed trades. The school also offers career development opportunities through continuing education and corporate training.

RDP representatives say that as one of Canada’s top 50 research polytechnics and colleges, the school continues to grow its multi-disciplinary applied research capacity in four areas of focus: Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing, Health Care and Health Technology, Energy Innovation and Social Innovation.

More information and registration is available online, however drop-in attendees are welcome as well.
