Sylvan Lake launches resident survey for 2025 budget feedback

The Town of Sylvan Lake invites its residents to participate in the 2025 Resident Priorities survey to share their thoughts on how tax dollars should be managed by council in the 2025 budget.

The survey will remain open until Oct. 26, 2024, and results will be posted online and presented to council once it closes.

Town officials say residents are responsible for participating in the municipal process just as the Town is responsible for managing tax dollars responsibly, and that both sides participating creates a healthier community.

They also ask participants to share the survey with as many other Lakers as they can, so they can better understand what the majority of residents want.

The survey gives residents a chance to:

• Tell the Town their preferred tax strategy
• Tell the Town what services they would increase or cut, based on their chosen tax strategy
• Submit ideas for cost-free revenue generation
• Tell the Town how each department is doing
• Tell the Town about your customer service experience with it
• Give general feedback

The Town offers the following tips for participating in the budget process:

1. Review engage.sylvanlake.ca/2025-budget
2. Create an engage account, if you haven’t already
3. Log in and take the survey
4. Watch the news section for the results, posted after October 26
