Elizabeth "Betty" Hopkins

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandmother, Elizabeth “Betty “Hopkins.
She passed away peacefully on September 25 at the age of 100 years, surround by her daughters.
Betty was born April 8, 1924, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. In 1930, her family moved from southern Alberta to farm in the Haynes District. On December 14,1945, she was united in marriage to Glen Hopkins.
Bettys unwavering faith was the guiding light in her life, and she always showed kindness and compassion to everyone she met. Her active involvement in the church and community was a testament to her caring spirit.
Known for her delicious baking and cooking, Betty always welcomed friends and family into her home. Her love for gardening was evident in her beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetable garden.
She is survived by her daughters, Gladys (Ed) Cork, Gwen Hopkins and Della (Dana) Nolan, along with her 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Glen in 1993, her son John in 2014, her brother Frank Dobinson in 2006, and sister Frances Littau in 2022.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Lacombe Continuing Care for the wonderful care mom received.
An open house in celebration of Bettys life will take place at Eventide Funeral Home on October 17th from 1:30pm to 4:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come and share their memories.
