It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Scabar at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the age of 83 years. Barbara was born in Camrose, Alberta on October 24, 1940, and spent her early childhood on the family farm in Round Hill, Alberta. At the age of seven, she moved to Red Deer, where she lived the remainder of her life, most recently at the Michener Centre, a place she called home for many years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Joanne (Bill) Hendrix of Calgary, and her brothers, Rick Scabar (Natalia) of Calgary, and Merlin (Barb) Scabar of Millet, along with her many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her father, John Scabar, her mother, Stella Kalawsky, and her brother, Kenneth Scabar. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Michener Centre for the exceptional care and attention they provided Barbara over the years. Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
