James Gordon Heare, born on November 1, 1939, in Innisfail, Alberta, passed away peacefully in Olds Long Term Care on September 15, 2024. He was the beloved son of Perrin and Mary Heare and the oldest of their three children, cherished by his sisters Beryl (Remple) and Goldie (Remple).
Growing up in the Caroline area, Jim began his lifelong career in the oil fields at an early age. In November of 1960, he married the love of his life, Elaine (Jones). Together, they navigated the challenges of his work, moving throughout Alberta until they finally settled in Olds. It is said that his daughters cried all the way from Edson to Olds, but Jim assured them that they would not be moving again, and true to his word, they stayed.
Jim was a devoted father to his four daughters: Teresa, Doreen, Tracey, and Priscilla. He welcomed Teresa as the firstborn, followed by Doreen, and later, Tracey and Priscilla. Jim worked tirelessly to provide his family with the best of everything and instilled in them the values of kindness and hard work. Known for his good heart, Jim was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He had a great appreciation for humor and enjoyed sharing a good joke, a cup of coffee, and the occasional treat of cheezies or popcorn. His legacy continues through his loving family, including his daughters Teresa Heare, Doreen (Anthony), along with their three children: Quisto (Tyna) great-grandson Koa, Quinell (Lauren), and Quijuanna (Bryan) great-grand
daughters Afton and Ogwyn, Tracey (Rod) and Priscilla (Simon) grand-daughter Paris.
James Gordon Heare will be remembered not just for his work ethic and dedication to his family, but also for the joy and laughter he brought into their lives. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
