Black Tie Bingo returns for a night of fun and formal philanthropy

Sep 25, 2024 | 9:43 AM

Residents are invited to the Rotary Club of Red Deer’s Black Tie Bingo for its 29th year, running on Tuesday, October 29 at the Red Deer Resort and Casino.

The event is a major fundraiser for the organization, and this year’s focus for allocating the funds will be its scholarship program, in partnership with the Red Deer and District Community Foundation, that awards post-secondary scholarships to central Alberta students.

Attendees can expect to see a silent auction and live auction, and to get their hands on a bingo prize.

“It’s a mid-week event so we don’t go late, we’re respectful of people’s time. But it’s a lot of fun and you get to play bingo, you don’t have to bid on the live auction or the silent auction items, you can just play bingo and still win and have a really good dinner and some drinks with your friends,” said Dean Williams, a volunteer with the organization.

Normally, the event raises about $100,000, and all of the money made gets put right back into the community.

Tickets can be purchased online for $175 per person, or $1,400 for a table of eight.
