Wetaskiwin man arrested twice in two days, sentenced in second incident
A Wetaskiwin man arrested and charged twice in the span of 24 hours this summer has been sentenced to another 180 days in jail.
Jamie Swinamer, 35, was sentenced in Wetaskiwin Court of Justice on Aug. 19, 2024, after being convicted on counts of possession of property over $5000, and fail to comply with a release order. Two other charges were dismissed, while two additional Traffic Safety Act charges were withdrawn.
Swinamer was previously sentenced on Aug. 9, 2024, to 20 days in prison after being convicted on charges of obstructing a peace officer, and two counts of fail to comply with a release order, in a separate incident.
It was on June 28, 2024, when Innisfail RCMP were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle near the Dickson Dam.
