Marion Beatrice Rowat

Marion was born 1937 in Red Deer, Alberta and passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2024 in Red Deer, Alberta. She spent most of her early life on a farm near Sylvan Lake , Alberta helping raise her five siblings. Marion helped milk cows and rode her horse to school. She continued to ride horses and completed a three day horse riding pack trip to the mountains when in her 50’s. She spent the majority of her life in Red Deer, Calgary and later wintering in Yuma, Arizona. She started her career at CKRD in Red Deer and after moving to Calgary spent much of her career as the Credit Director at CFCN where she was known for her professionalism and dedication.
Marion was a woman of many talents and passions. An incredible artist, she expressed her creativity through her art, gardening, sewing and quilting. She was happiest when surrounded by nature, whether tending to her garden or watching the birds that visited her home. Marion also enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan, never missing a chance to watch baseball or basketball games.
Her creativity, warmth, and love for life will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marion will be lovingly remembered by son Brad (Sue) and Brad’s three children, Alex and his son Marshall, Chris (Kate) and their three children (Paige, Eric and Amber) and Stephanie (Matt) and their son Thomas. Daughter Terri (Brian Hodgson) and their two children Matt (Alex) and their daughter Riley and Josh (Kirsten) and their daughter Olivia. Daughter Carrie (Robert) and their daughter Emily and son Scott and by brother Peter Ward. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2018, and her brothers Jimmy, Tommy and Monty and her sister Dolores Garrett.
Marion will be deeply missed.
