August 12 Update: RCMP make one arrest, seek second suspect in Rocky View County shooting

The Alberta RCMP have arrested one suspect and still seek a second in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred on August 6 in Rocky View County, prompting a shelter in place directive in Strathmore.

RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for murder, for Elijah Blake Strawberry, who they believe may be connected to the incident. Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.

He is described as:

  • Light complexion
  • 6 feet 1 inch tall
  • 169 pounds
  • Several arm and face tattoos
  • Brown Hair

Strawberry is considered armed and dangerous. If you believe you have seen him, do not approach; call 911 immediately.

With assistance from the Edmonton Police Service, one suspect was arrested on August 11. They remain in custody with charges pending, and more information will be shared when charges are sworn, say Alberta Mounties.
