Aug 10, 2024 | 9:56 AM

Mounties are looking for a suspect after a man was lit on fire in Surrey, B.C., and they say he could still be in the Lower Mainland or headed for Alberta.

Police say the public should call 911 if they see 33-year-old Kalid Yimer.

Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha says Yimer is believed to be violent and dangerous and he should not be approached.

Yimer is described as five-feet-six-inches tall with dark hair, brown eyes and a medium build.

Police had previously noted that Yimer has a moustache, and was last seen wearing black pants, a black-grey hoodie with black arms, and a green baseball cap with the word ‘Cariboo’ on it.

They also noted that the suspect is believed to have stolen a vehicle from the area of the alleged attack — a white Mini Cooper with black stripes and black rims bearing B.C. plate D80745.
