We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Howard John Dugan of Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the age of 83 years. The world became a little brighter when it welcomed Howard on September 3, 1940. Howard will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Fern (nee Fisher); his sons, Eugene (Ilona) and James (Betty Ann); his four grandchildren, Danielle, Shane, Brianne and Brittany; and his four great grandchildren, Rowe, Oliver, Lucas, and Noah. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Stanley (Debbie) Dugan of Tisdale, Saskatchewan; his sister, Florence (Gary) Mayerle, also of Tisdale; and his sisters and brother-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his son, Lloyd Dugan; his parents, Eugene and Thelma Dugan; his sister, Mary Etta (Richard ‘Dick’) Blanchard of Regina, Saskatchewan; his brother, Donald (Florence) Dugan of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; and his sister, Pat (Phil) Carrier of Williams Lake, British Columbia. Our thanks to the wonderful staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton and the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre for their care and support over the past few months. We are grateful to know that Howard is now resting peacefully. He will be forever loved, fondly remembered and sorely missed. We are working on plans to celebrate Howard’s life.
