Woody’s Triathlon racing through town this weekend

Woody’s Triathlon takes to the streets of Red Deer this Saturday, June 22.

Competitors will begin by swimming laps in the Michener Aquatic Centre, then head out to complete the cycling and running legs of the race. Road closure information for the cycling and running portions of the race can be found here.

Participants in the try-a-tri, relay, and adult and junior heats will take off at 7 a.m. The youth races will begin at 1 p.m.

Adult competitors will be swimming 750 metres, biking 20 kilometres, and then running 5 kilometres.

Afterwards, there will be a barbecue and snacks for athletes. Spectators can also purchase food from the barbecue, the proceeds of which will go to the Red Deer Kinsmen.
