Chair and Vice Chair Elected

The Board of Trustees held its annual Organizational Meeting. Nicole Buchanan was re-elected to the Board Chair position, while Dianne Macaulay was re-elected as Vice Chair for the 2024/2025 school year. Committees and school liaisons were also determined.

Edwin Parr Nominee

Rachel Baong, a Grade 4 Teacher at Gateway Christian School, was recognized as the Red Deer Public Edwin Parr Nominee. Rachel said she always knew she wanted to be a teacher, as her dad is a principal, and her mom was an educational assistant. She added, in her first year of teaching, there have been many highlights including forming relationships with her students and seeing them grow in their learning. NOMINEE.

Melisa McIntosh, a Grade 5 Teacher at Aspen Heights Elementary School, has been awarded the Tom Malone Lifetime Achievement Award by MicroSociety Inc. Melisa has been part of MicroSociety since it began at Aspen Heights Elementary School, and was one of the foundational teachers implementing the program in its early stages. AWARD.
