Hugh lived in Calgary for a few years and moved back to Roblin for 20 more, to help his brother Orton in his butchering business, and then eventually retired back in Sundre. Hugh married Marion Haldane in April 1968. One of their favorite things to do together was square dancing. Marion and Hugh cherished their time in Sundre with the seniors, carpet bowling, floor curling, as well as camping and dancing with their good friend John (Jack) Ware at jams and camp outs. In 2010, Hugh’s health started to decline, eventually needing more care which he received at the Sunset Manor in Innisfail. Hugh is survived by his wife Marion of 38 yrs, 3 stepchildren, Linda, Mark (Brenda), Christopher (Leeca); 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; special friend John (Jack) Ware; sisters-in-law Hazel (Tony) Kosmachuk, Luella Gallup; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
