Ashley Freitas passed away suddenly on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the age of 36 years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ashley was born in Claresholm, Alberta, where she lived until 1993, when her family moved to Olds, Alberta. She lived in Olds for two years before moving to Red Deer, Alberta. Ashley moved herself and her two daughters to Delburne, Alberta in 2016, to return to her country roots, and to enjoy a small community atmosphere for herself and her family. Ashley thoroughly enjoyed the small community life of living in Delburne. Ashley attended Public Schools in Claresholm, Olds, and Red Deer, and went on to successfully complete the two-year Legal Assistant Program at Red Deer College in 2012. Ashley continued her education by completing both a Nail and Lash Esthetician Program. Ashley was actively enrolled in the Legal Program at Athabasca University and was an enthusiastic learner. She was interested in completing additional educational programs to enhance her knowledge. Ashley had a passionate love of life. She faced challenges head on. She displayed enthusiasm for her secular work, striving for excellence. Ashley loved her job at Billy Bob’s, working her way up from Server to Bartender. She left Billy Bob’s to work at Safe Harbour trying to create a positive impact on those who were at the program. Ashley deeply cared about her friends and family. Ashley went the extra mile for those in need, helping anywhere she could. Ashley raised two beautiful, loving, caring girls. She did everything she could for them, physically and emotionally, creating a safe, secure home for them. Ashley will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Melita Mercedes Ariella Freitas and Callista Lexus Freitas, her brother, James Strangways, her two sisters, Chelsey Hackworth and Shaylene Strangways, her mother, Marlene Strangways, her grandmother, Jackie Huff, her nieces, Braxton Leung and Aurora Fortney, her nephews, Hartley Strangways, Nathaniel Strangways, Jaxon Strangways and Blake Strangways, and her aunts, uncles and cousins. Ashley was predeceased by her stepfather, Dan Debolt, her uncle, Wally Tiemer, and her grandfather, Raymond Huff. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
