It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, Ethel Hayes, who left us peacefully on Wednesday, April 24 2024, at the age of 84 years. Ethel was born on September 4, 1939. She was a beacon of light and the heart of her family. Ethel lived her life with incredible adventure, grace, and a sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. She was the epitome of kindness and her love for her family was infinite. Ethel spent her years dedicated to her family and the farming operations she shared with her husband, Vant Hayes. She was a respected member of the community. Ethel’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the home care staff that took such great care of her over the years, both on the farm by Breton, Alberta and in Innisfail, Alberta for their unwavering kindness and support during her final days. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Peggy (Greg), Christie-Leanna (Christopher), her six grandchildren, Saldana, Shiloh, Shaka, Austin, Dakota and Tristan. Ethel will also be deeply missed by her great grandchildren, Alannah, Danver, Keada, numerous nieces and nephews as well as cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vant Hayes, her sister, Joyce, and her parents, William and Freida. Ethel may have left this world, but her spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts. We will always remember her infectious laughter, her warm hugs, and her unwavering faith and strength. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us every day. Rest in peace Ethel. You will be greatly missed, but your legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on forever.
