Pouline Vickery (Knorborg), age 86, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024.
She was born on January 29, 1938, to Jens Marinus Knorborg and Martha Florence McCormick. She married her childhood sweetheart, Wayne Edgevick Vickery on June 17, 1956, who preceded her in death in 1972. She enjoyed sewing dolls clothes for her girls and knitting countless pairs of socks and mittens for her friends and neighbors. She would also help her boys nurse wounded birds and small animals back to health, as she loved her life on the farm.
Polly, as everyone would call her was a wonderful daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, auntie, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She was beautiful, feisty, and outgoing. Polly’s smile was warm and kind, always offering words of encouragement, a hot meal, and a warm bed to anyone who needed it. She touched many lives with goodness. Polly loved her family with everything she had and was extremely proud of each of her children. She is well known for her love of animals, reading and doing puzzles.
Pouline leaves behind her 5 children Rick Vickery (Shannon) of Edmonton, Randy Vickery (Karen) of Airdrie, Susan Stephenson (Don) of Rocky View County, Glenys Vickery-Voutier (Brad) of Eagle Hill, and Roger Vickery (Tara) of Calgary; sister Greta Bolton of Olds; 16 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren with 3 on the way and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were her world that she loved unconditionally.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Audry Blair, Loretta Glasgo, Marie Gilmore, Anita Van Keimpema, Sandra Knorborg, along with 1 great grandson James Edward Sayers.
She was a beacon of love and light for all of us and will be deeply missed.
