Ryan passed away suddenly on April 14th, 2024 at the age of 41. Ryan is survived by his spouse Teresa Lorenz; Mother-In-Law Caroline Lorenz; brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas (Valerie) Lorenz, Jennifer (Kyle) Holm, Damien (Jolene) Lorenz, and Adam Lorenz; parents Maureen and Phil Henri; siblings Jolene Berg (Dennis), Jarret Henri (Jordan), and Paige Henri. Ryan also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss having him let them win at board games and chess, and his lectures on the importance of education. He was predeceased by his grandparents William and Viola Paton; Fernand and Yvette Henri; Raymond Henri; and Father-In-Law Rodney Lorenz.
Ryan was born in Sparwood, BC on September 21, 1982. He was a sensitive and poetic soul from the very beginning, taking in everything he could with his big sparkly blue eyes. As he grew, fishing, reading, and travelling developed into true passions. He obtained his Journeyman Red Seal in Welding while in Red Deer, working in a career that allowed him to explore his love of art and creation. His real interest in humans and figuring out what makes them tick is what led to a recent career change to studying psychology.
Ryan was a true philosopher; a lover of wisdom. He was always encouraging everyone to follow their passions and to learn everything they could about things they loved. Ryan relished the experiences in life, cooking and creating good food for the people he loved best, travelling the world, and appreciating the magic in everything from sunsets to teeny tiny wild strawberries. Ryan’s true love in life was his spouse Teresa. He treasured her with every bit of his soul, and together they created a life that is to be envied.
Service is to be held at Red Deer Funeral Home April 28th, 2024 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, Ryan’s family has requested that everyone try to live like he did. Go cook a fabulous meal for your loved ones. Mow your neighbor’s lawn and shovel their snow. Laugh till you cry. Love your people.
