On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Freda regretfully passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre at the age of 93 years. Freda was born on November 27, 1930, in Edmonton Alberta. Freda resided at Chad’s with her beloved roommates and had very attentive staff. Before that, she lived with her lifelong friend Audrey and was supported by many long-time staff during her years with Etana. They hold a special place in their hearts for Freda. She went to “Eileen’s Beauty Nook” for at least thirty-five years, adamant that the beauticians there knew their stuff. She would know, as she really liked to look good. Freda also had a close relationship with Phyllis from “In Touch With You”. Freda was an amazing and mischievous woman who led an exciting and glorious life. Among her many attributes, she had a great sense of humor, historically, was an avid reader, and she understood and spoke some German words. She had a love for travel, jewelry, flowers, funny movies, singing, country drives, antiquing, people watching, animals (kittens and puppies), and babies. Freda also had a love for music and played the violin when she was younger. She enjoyed many a matinee Dinner Theatre at The Black Knight Inn. At home, she could be found watching “Lawrence Welk”.
Freda was not shy in making it known she wanted a million dollars, and absolutely hated to miss movie dates with her BF Audrey, and she would request Pizza Hut or KFC afterwards. Freda was also well known for her help at the Red Deer Public Library and the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Freda will be lovingly remembered by everyone at Etana and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
