Later in life she worked as a ‘Direct Support Worker’ for 8 yrs with CARS (Central Alberta Residence Society).
Family was very important to Millie.
Many vacations were travelling to visit relatives, and holidays she would arrange for family to celebrate and just be together. She also took many trips with her two sisters Betty and Beulah.
Christmas was Millie’s favourite time. She loved to decorate with all her special trinkets, bake and prepare the most spectacular Christmas dinner!
She loved to entertain. Millie and Jim had many close friends that they would spend time with playing cards, having dinner, and taking some fabulous trips with.
Millie loved her dogs. Rusty, Bonnie, Pepper, MacGregor, Hampton, Abby and Mack. Oh and let’s not forget her 5 grand cats 😀
Millie survived two major health crises: paralysis from the flu shot in ‘76, and cancer in ‘91. After her health scares she kept a strong mind set and remained healthy and active.
She loved to have fun, loved dancing, was kind, patient, caring, helpful, and friendly.
You are and forever will be the best mom & nana anyone could ever ask for!
