Recovery Alberta to host engagement sessions

Apr 3, 2024 | 9:21 AM

Alberta’s government has announced two new organizations that they say will support the development of the mental health and addiction system of care.
The new mental health and addiction organization, Recovery Alberta says it will be responsible for the delivery of mental health and addiction services currently delivered by Alberta Health Services (AHS).
They say front line workers and service providers will continue to be essential to care for Albertans. To ensure stability of services to Albertans, they say there will be no changes to terms and conditions of employment for AHS Addiction and Mental Health staff transitioning to Recovery Alberta. Additionally, they say there will be no changes to grants or contracts for service providers currently under agreement with AHS upon establishment of Recovery Alberta.
Alberta’s minister of Mental Health & Addiction Dan Williams says they will be hosting four engagement sessions with AHS staff and service providers in April to share more information about Recovery Alberta and provide staff and service providers an opportunity to ask questions.

AHS staff or service providers wishing to join any of these engagement sessions can register and submit their questions online.
  • Virtual engagement sessions for Recovery Alberta will be held on:
    • April 11 at 6:30 p.m.
    • April 16 at 10 a.m.
    • April 17 at 6:30 p.m.
    • April 22 at 10 a.m.
