It is with very heavy and sad hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Anthony (Tony) James McKinnon on March 17th, 2024 in his home in Sundre, Alberta.
Tony was born August 19th, 1961 in Olds, Alberta to Neil and Christine McKinnon. The family resided in Calgary until 1957 at which time they moved to Innisfail, then Olds and later to Sundre in the early 1960’s. Tony went to school in Sundre and called Sundre home.
Tony spent his early years working in the pipeline industry, later getting into Heavy Equipment Operation. He worked on things like oil leases, roads, highways, canals and some reclamation work as a finisher. He worked for various companies over the years, to name a few, Dar Car Trucking, RTC Services, Pidherney’s Trucking Ltd., and finally Richardson Bros. (Olds) Ltd, up until his health forced him to quit in 2018.
Tony is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his partner Kay Moore, as well as his brothers Keith (Kathleen), Roy, and sister Arlene (Mike), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by his father in 1976, his mother in 2013, brothers Barry in 1970, Glen in 1973, Bruce in 1984, Colin 2015 and Ken in 2018.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
