Mr. Jacques René Roussel, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the age of 65 years. Jacques was born on April 16, 1958 in Quebec, Canada.
Jacques was a skilled motorcycle mechanic, a passion he pursued with unwavering dedication. His hands deftly worked on engines; his mind attuned to the intricacies of every machine he touched. He found joy in the hum of engines, the thrill of the open road, and the camaraderie of fellow riders.
His love for motorcycles was matched only by his zest for life. Jacques embraced adventure, relishing the freedom of the open road as he explored the landscapes around him. Camping under the stars, he found solace in the simplicity of nature, cherishing moments of quiet reflection amidst the vast wilderness.
A fervent enthusiast of racing, Jacques was often found cheering on his favorite teams and riders, his eyes alight with excitement as he witnessed the speed and skill of the competitors.
Music was another passion that resonated deeply with Jacques. From the pounding rhythms of rock to the soulful melodies of blues, he found solace and inspiration in the notes that filled the air. In his youth, he wielded drumsticks with passion and skill, the beat of his drums echoing the rhythm of his heart.
In 2022, Jacques faced a formidable adversary in leukemia, a battle he fought with courage and resilience, emerging victorious against the odds. However, despite his triumph over illness, fate dealt him another cruel blow. On March 10, 2024, Jacques succumbed to complications from pneumonia and lung cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by all who knew him.
Though Jacques may no longer ride the open road or feel the beat of his drums, his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the hearts he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who have the privilege of knowing him.
Jacques leaves behind his beloved wife, Mylen Cruto, whose unwavering support, and companionship brought light to his darkest days. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Lyne, and Sylvie Roussel, who shared in his joys and sorrows throughout his life’s journey.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, Memorial Donations in Jacques’ honor be made to Leukemia Research at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada at www.bloodcancers.ca, ensuring that his legacy continues to make a difference in the fight against this devastating disease.
