Pair charged after stolen vehicle incident in Red Deer

Red Deer RCMP have charged two people in connection to a stolen vehicle incident.

It was Jan. 2 of this year when Red Deer RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team was conducting patrols when officers located two people in a vehicle that had been stolen out of Red Deer the day prior. Officers arrested both suspects.

Jesse Bissonette, a 39-year-old resident of Blackfalds, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession of ammunition contrary to an order
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• Dangerous driving
• Flight from police
• Prohibited driving
• Possession of break-in tools
• Breach of release order
• Drive without insurance
• Display improper licence plate

Following a court appearance, Bissonette was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on March 5.

Sarah Thayer, a 33-year-old resident of Sylvan Lake, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession of ammunition contrary to an order (2 counts)
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• Unauthorized possession of identity documents
• Possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles)

Following a court appearance, Thayer was released, and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on March 7.
