1931 ~ Frances Cowan ~ 2024 "She will be greatly missed by many nephews and nieces and friends."

Frances Cowan of Calgary, Alberta, as a daughter of the King, went home on January 29, 2024. She was born in Gibbons, Alberta on August 31, 1931. She was number 5 of 13 children. She was the apple of her daddy’s eye. In 1949, Frances met John Cowan in Westlock, Alberta, and married him before the year was out. They settled in Big Valley for a few years. Four children later, they packed up and made their home in Didsbury. Three more children were added to the family. Frances and John moved out to Vancouver Island with Jess and Jamie in tote. They lived there for 16 years and moved back to Alberta in 1995. They resided in Alix, Alberta. Frances lived on at Alix for another few years after John passed, then moved to Calgary. After moving to Calgary, Frances was able to do many things that she loved to do: travel, go to the casino, and visit her kids. Watching curling and movies were a passion for her.
Frances is survived by her 3 sons: Randy; Jay ( Shelley); Jess (Lou-Ann); and 4 daughters: Dawn; Joni; Jody (Gord); Jamie (Jim). Frances had 25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by one sister,
Pat and one brother Jim (Jane).
She will be greatly missed by many nephews and nieces and friends.
Interment will be at the Didsbury Cemetery, Didsbury, Alberta at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 followed by a service at Heartland Funeral Services, 5226 – 46 Street, Olds, Alberta at 1:00 p.m.
